Where does HobbyComp get its data? +
HobbyComp pulls sold listing data directly from eBay in real time. We only include completed, verified sales — not active listings or asking prices. This means every comp you see is a real transaction that actually happened.
How often is data updated? +
Our data refreshes every few hours. For high-volume cards, you'll typically see sales from within the last 24 hours reflected in your comp results. Sales older than 60 days are weighted less in trend calculations.
Is HobbyComp really free? +
Yes — the Rookie tier is free forever. It includes 10 comp searches per day, 7–14 day price history, up to 3 saved cards, and full community access. Pro tiers unlock unlimited searches, longer history, intelligence modules, and more.
How do I add cards to my collection? +
From any card detail page, click "Add to collection." You can track your purchase price, grade, and let HobbyComp automatically update the current market value based on real sold comps.
Can I cancel my plan? +
Yes, any time. Cancel from Account Settings → Plan & Billing. You'll retain access to your paid tier until the end of your current billing period. No questions asked.
How does the trade board work? +
The trade board lets collectors post cards they want to trade, sell, or acquire. Every listing shows the current HobbyComp comp value, so both sides have the same market reference. Use the Trade Analyzer to check if a deal is fair before agreeing.
What is GemRate? +
GemRate is our grading probability engine. It analyzes a card's set, pop report, and historical grade distribution to estimate your chances of getting a PSA 10, 9, 8, or 7. It also calculates expected value after grading fees and shipping — so you know before you submit whether it's worth it.
What is FlipScore? +
FlipScore is a 0–100 score that tells you whether to buy, hold, sell, grade, or pass on a card. It factors in purchase price, grading costs, platform fees, market momentum, liquidity, player risk, and more — and outputs a single number with a clear recommendation and a full P&L breakdown.
What is Heat Vision? +
Heat Vision is an intelligence layer that explains WHY a card is moving. It detects catalysts like performance spikes, fantasy demand, prospect hype, injury opportunity, and influencer attention — and tells you whether the movement is legitimate or likely to reverse. Available on Hobbyist plans and above.
How do I report a bad trade or a scammer? +
Use the "Report" button on any trade listing or user profile. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours. Confirmed violations result in account suspension. Every trade is also recorded in the Collector Credit Score system, which flags users with poor completion history.
